Save With Alberta Energy-Efficiency Programs
Upgrading to energy-efficient windows and doors doesn't just improve your home's comfort—it may also qualify you for financial support. Alberta homeowners can take advantage of several provincial and municipal programs designed to make energy-efficient upgrades more affordable. One of the most widely available is the Clean Energy Improvement Program (CEIP), a municipal financing program that helps homeowners pay for energy-efficient upgrades—including high-performance windows and doors—without covering the full cost upfront. Instead of a traditional loan, CEIP lets homeowners finance improvements through their property tax bill, making upgrades more manageable over time. Note that CEIP is only offered in participating municipalities, so availability depends on where you live.
Additional support may be available depending on your situation. Alberta seniors (65 or older) may qualify for the Seniors Home Adaptation and Repair Program (SHARP), which can help with the cost of replacing exterior doors and other home improvements, subject to income and equity requirements. Many of these programs also allow "stacking," meaning municipal, provincial, and federal incentives can sometimes be combined to maximize your savings.
